zuidplein: De la boca al suelo
by Tania Sanjurjo
Zuidplein explores the identity of a transit space through what remains once the body has disappeared. The series shifts its focus from the flow of people to the pavement: a surface marked by traces of chewing gum that, through accumulation, creates a glossy, almost organic texture.
The residue becomes both a visual layer and a record of presence and permanence. The identity of the place is no longer defined by those who pass through it, but by the traces they leave behind.
As the gaze moves closer to the ground, the station gradually loses definition and a collective cartography emerges, formed by anonymous, repeated and involuntary gestures.
